About Trading Standards Wales

Trading Standards Wales (TSW) represents the 20 Local Authority Trading Standards services across Wales.  We share information and awareness campaigns across the nation to protect consumers and safeguard legitimate business.

Our Responsibilities

The benefits of working together and co-ordination across the region includes raising the profile of Trading Standards.

TSW coordinates advice and enforcement of laws that govern the way goods and services are sold, rented and hired to consumers.  Local Trading Standards officers carry out inspections and monitor or investigate complaints. We endeavour to work with businesses to help achieve compliance but ultimately, we can prosecute those who break the law.

Together, TSW tackles a wide range of issues including; product safety, doorstep crime and scams, underage sales, counterfeit goods and unfair trading as well as food standards and animal feed legislation.
